Pastoral support

Students will be supported in small tutorial groups by our experienced tutor team. Students will be able to meet with tutors as and when they need them

During the typical week, tutorial support will be structured in the following way:

One morning a week – Whole tutor group or meetings/assembly every week
Rest of the week  – One to one appointments

We are lucky to have a full-time Wellbeing Mentor who is training in counselling, who offers students a listening ear from the comfort of our dedicated Wellbeing Room. More details are available on the wellbeing section of our site.

Teacher and students

Our tutorial programme aims to explore Habits of Learning (A level mindset) which will enable students to develop as successful, independent learners.  Tutorials support our students as they make a transition to mature and focused learning behaviours that will ready them for university or a career.

Other components of the tutorial programme include; CV writing, organising and completing work experience, university and careers work and current affairs.  Students are also given opportunities to explore wellbeing – including introducing students to tools & techniques to support development of resilience & independence in managing their own health & wellbeing.

Students have access to a part-time Counsellor who offers individualised talk therapy and CBT, and a full-time Wellbeing Mentor who offers drop-in and scheduled listening sessions. More details are available on the wellbeing section of our site.
