Wellbeing

Wellbeing website for students here

Our aim at the Sixth Form is to provide a proactive wellbeing service that meets students’ day to day wellbeing needs and supports school attendance and achievement. We also help students to develop resilience and independence in managing their own health and wellbeing as they move into adulthood.

During term time students can spend time with our Wellbeing Mentor Monday to Friday, from 8.30am to 4.30pm. They can drop in without an appointment, or book and attend regular appointments. She offers non-judgemental listening sessions as well as support with developing life skills such as time management, stress management and coping strategies/self-care.

Students can also self-refer to our on-site registered and accredited BACP counsellor, Monday to Wednesday. She is experienced in working with college and university students, and is trained in humanistic Gestalt counselling as well as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). She has a particular interest in supporting young people to navigate autism, neuro-diversity and difference.

Students are able to use the Wellbeing Room at any time when there are no appointments. Here they can access books, wellbeing magazines and other resources or simply use it as a safe space to achieve some quiet and calm. We provide a dedicated wellbeing website with information and self-help tools, tips and techniques to encourage students to learn more about looking after their wellbeing and so they can further develop their own coping strategies and skills.
