The library has an online catalogue where you can see what resources are available.

  • You will automatically be directed to the Sixth Form Library website but you can move to other pages by using the drop down list under “Dashboards”
  • Use the top search bar to locate books by author, title or subject
  • You can expand the search to search a curated list of websites using the “One Search” function
  • Virtual shelves displays resources by subject area
  • Click on “Reading Lists” to access pre-defined lists so you can see at a glance relevant resources

Open daily from 8.30 to 4.30 during term time, the Library is staffed by qualified professionals. It provides an invaluable source of information: from university taster courses to curriculum–related exhibitions; from creative and academic writing competitions to latest news and reviews.

Students are encouraged to make full use of these opportunities and resources, as well as those offered by an excellent online collection that includes access to academic journal collections such as JSTOR, Wiley Online Library and Newspapers for Schools.

Adjacent to the main library space are seminar rooms equipped with the latest audio visual equipment, enabling students to work in small groups and take advantage of the range of information sources today such as podcasts from Oxford and Cambridge universities.

The library runs an annual essay writing competition – the Cervus Review Essay prize. Further details can be found below.
